Dr. Volker Stadler (CEO)
Dr. Volker Stadler studied Chemistry in Heidelberg and received his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2001. Afterwards he joined Frank Breitling and Ralf Bischoff at the German Cancer Research Center to develop PEPperPRINT’s new peptide microarray technology. In 2003 they launched the junior research group "Chip-Based Peptide Libraries" that was awarded with the German Science Stifter Prize in 2008, and published the microarray platform technology in Science and Angewandte Chemie. In 2009 Volker Stadler was asked to head the DKFZ spin-off PEPperPRINT as CEO, and to transfer the peptide microarray technology into a commercial product. In the same year the company's business plan won the Science4Life Venture Cup sponsored by Sanofi-Aventis, and was awarded with German Industry’s Innovation Award in 2010. PEPperPRINT is meanwhile an established company of the BioRN biotech cluster, and leading in the field of peptide microarrays and epitope mapping services.
Dr. Ralf Bischoff (CSO)
Dr. Ralf Bischoff is responsible for all technological and scientific issues. Previously he made major contributions to the fields of small GTPases and nuclear transport. Dr. Bischoff is thus a leading authority in the field of protein chemistry and molecular biology with an impressive track record including articles in Science and Nature. Along with Frank Breitling he formed the core of PEPperPRINT in 2001, and was awarded with the "Genius Biotech Award" of the German federal state Baden-Württemberg. Together with Breitling & Stadler he headed the DKFZ junior research group "Chip-Based Peptide Libraries" and was also awarded with the Science Stifter Prize in 2008.
